He's at it again!

I don't know what it is with Jonathan and our digital camera but we always find some lovely portraits of him when we scroll through our pictures. It wasn't too long ago that Ty found some hilarious pictures of Jonathan that I believe he ended up posting on his blog. Well now it's my turn to publicly display what I found on today's SD card...If he continues Ty and I are going to have some interesting "blackmailing" materials. Anyway the frenzy restarted yesterday when the Elders (young missionaries of our church) were at our home for dinner and it continued on today...here a flash, there a flash every where a flash! Flash!
There are some lovelies but I have only chosen three. Here are my TOP 3 which I have entitled: "Cherri-O", "Bucky" and "Hello Ladies".
What a ham! Enjoy!
Let's have a little FUN...
Do you have a family clown in your home?
Do you care to share a funny picture(s) of your family clown?

The HULA Bug.

My sweet mother is Tahitian. Before moving to the mainland Tahiti we use to live on the island of Raiatea. While living on that island (Raiatea) she put us in a Tahitian dance group and so my sisters and I were taught the dances of our ancestors the "Aparima" (a slow graceful dance) and the "Otea" (a fast hip moving dance). We danced at school events, church functions (welcoming church general authorities) etc. I still remember the long dance rehearsals where we not only had to memorize the choreography but the songs as well (in the native language of course -Tahitian). The sound of traditional instruments: the ukulele's, "to ere" and drums were rich and exciting.

Today I can still hear the deep sound of drums this time they are calling me... A few times I have done cultural presentations and have enjoyed sharing my heritage with others. And many times I have toyed with the idea of teaching Tahitian "hula" but never have followed through. However the other day after stopping at an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice stand outside of Foothills Mall, the Hula bug bit me again and I'm itching like crazy...SO I'm just going to go for it this time and see what happens.

Smarty Pants.

This morning I was making silly sounds and funny faces as I fed Joshua his baby food. Jonathan was near by having breakfast and this is what he said.

Jonathan: Mom you're SILLY!

Me: Yes, I know.

Me: Jonathan you're SMART!

Jonathan (with a slow yet confidence voice): Yes, I Am!

Ah just the way it came out made me laugh. Such confidence!

Trapped!

These pictures were taken a couple of months ago and I forgot to post them. Joshua was about 7 months old. Anyway he has been crawling for a while and there have been times where he gets trapped or stuck just like Winnie the Pooh. Sometimes I let him cry for a bit with the hopes that he will figure things out and sometimes it works but there are times like this one where he simply needs help.

Tia and her PINK Roses.

Did I mention that Tia loves the color PINK (any hue as long as it's pink all is well) and she loves flowers too...Anyway it was no surprise when Ty asked her last year what flower would she like to plant she replied roses and pink ones too please. Yes, Ty is my landscaper extraordinaire and I love his hard work on the yard.
Back to Miss Pinky Pants besides dropping ripe banana peels* by her rose brush and watering them, her roses came in better this year. She was so thrilled that she cut a couple and displayed them in a vase for all of us to enjoy. Thanks Tia!
{ Garden Tip of the day }: banana peels placed around roses deter aphids all while giving your roses potassium and other good things.
